If I am on private land, under the statutes in my state, I can operate it on the dirt and beyond 20 mph. I.e. on my land or as a guest on private land those laws specifically don’t apply. Even drunk drinking requires operation on a public way. I can drive in circles tanked on my own land. We have had similar changes on the East coast - 750 max motor 20 mph the throttle is safe for now. One cape cod town which has a bikeway recently has a meeting about them. They are heavy, people get injured… still as one member noted No one pays attention to the 15 mph speed limit and the ones who cause the worse crashes are the Tour de France wannabes not the cruisers on their e-bikes.

I’m 43 and sometimes I commute to work 18 miles away, I need to have a ebike instead of a normal bike due to poor circulation in my legs and it’s less tiring than pedaling only. They need to make more bike lanes with some sort of barriers. Cars are sometimes parked in bike lanes forcing me to go street or sidewalk to pass them. I wear full face motorcycle helmet since I’m scared of falling and might get a head injury.

Keep the RAV. Find a dog ramp to use to get your bikes up into it. I find them to be easier to handle and lighter than most heavy-duty ramps. And they're easier to just keep in the vehicle. I use them to get heavy crap like ebikes into my Land Cruiser... and my 160lb Mastiff. If they can handle him, they can handle your bikes for sure. You could even DIY a wench or pulley situation of some sort to help pull things up if you're ever too sore.

Passing is only legal where the lane paint is broken, not over solid yellows. This is Max wrists vid. I'm not the biggest Max fan but he does catch crashes on film pretty often. That being said, NO ONE forces ANYONE to push it beyond their skill level. Pcar guy is just a douche, I personally would have just kicked rocks and went about my day.

just a suggestion from years with dirt bikes: if its just for hauling a bike or 2 and you dont want the full "muh 4x4 truck" experience, look into small single cab stick shifts like a ranger or a tacoma, so much more fun when you dont need to tow or offroad, plus 100x easier to load and unload big mx bikes let alone these smaller ones. edit for: jumped the gun, ancient toyota pickups with the sunroofs are infact lit

I bought a motor goatV3 mostly so my son could ride it to school. We limit the speed to 20. I monitor It’s speed on my phone. My son has never broken the speed limit that we set. He’s called me and asked me if he could, but has been denied the permission. I give my children rules and set expectations properly on some things.
